Sebuah even seru bagi para pecinta sepeda akan diadakan pada Sabtu dan Minggu, 26-27 April 2008 di Kompleks Garuda Wisnu Kencana, Bukit Jimbaran – Bali, " GWK Bali Peak a Boo XC Challenge". Even ini digelar oleh klub sepeda Hillanders dalam rangka memperingati ulang tahunnya yang pertama bekerja sama dengan pihak Garuda Wisnu Kencana. Selain memperkenalkan manfaat olahraga bersepeda kepada masyarakat luas dan sebagai ajang kompetisi bagi pecinta sepeda, even ini juga menanamkan arti penting dalam rangka membantu dunia mengurangi polusi udara di era Climate Change. Acara inti dalam even ini adalah perlombaan sepeda cross country di seputaran kompleks Garuda Wisnu Kencana. Trek diseputar bukit Jimbaran dan Ungasan ini sendiri merupakan trek favorit bagi pecinta sepeda gunung di Bali karena pemandangannya yang indah dan cukup menantang untuk dilalui. Kegiatan lain yang akan diadakan adalah :

Tentang Hillanders
Hillanders Fun Cycling Community lahir pada 27 Februari 2007, berawal dari sekumpulan penghuni perumahan Puri Gading Jimbaran yang ingin hidup sehat dengan bersepeda. Dengan moto "Yang penting senang dan tambah teman" anggota Hillanders bertambah bukan hanya dari para penghuni Puri Gading tetapi juga dari pecinta bersepeda yang tinggal di luar Bukit Jimbaran.
Dengan moto yang sederhana tersebut Hillanders merambah segala trek : cross country, all mountain, downhill dan on road.

After months of preparation and anticipation finally is show time. Our company participate in the 1st ever bali triathlon, my boss will do the 1.5 km swim, i will tackle the 40 km and our colleague will take the last part of 10km run.The weather was perfect on Sunday, was too nervous wake up in time for the dawn prayer, wanted to arrive in the registration center by 6:30 am (race time 8:00) but was ahead of time and came down earlier .The place is already buzzing with activity, pro athletes doing their warms ups, not so pro atheletes are going to toilet for their nervousness (its me!) 8 am sharp the horn blast!, 1st swimmer went to the water, its race time! my swimmer come at 8.35 (1st swimmer come out of the water by 8:22)
Timing chip handed over to me and off me gooooo. doing well in the 1st leg, but the 2nd leg wind and traffic element distracted my focus, leg cramp start to hit me 10km to the finish line, suck it up. Finished the 40km bike on 1 hr .27.55 mnts ( warm up test ride 1hr. 35 mnts) not bad for a guy on mountain bike hehhehehe The running took longer, cross the finished line 1 hr and 20 mnts later but overall we came in 21st of all the 37 participants. Not bad for bunch of weekeend atheletes, next year's triathlon, here we come!

I will be participating on the team rely representing our company, and will be tackling the gruelling 40 Km bike ride.. wish me luck!

Having watched Spanish dining tapas lifestyle on Discovery Travel and Living, I recently discovered La Sal in Seminyak. Tucked away in a quite corner of Seminyak,this open air restaurant already looking spledid. We are in for a treat, great food , great atmosphere and get this.. great price truly value for money. Recommended for all of Spanish food lover or you foodie out there.Their mushroom and croquette are a MUST TRY. Open for lunch and dinner but close on Mondays Oh their upstairs lounge is great for those after dinner drinks, Mojito anyone?
